Properly installed soffit and fascia are important components of any roofing system. Soffit provides ventilation for attic spaces and roof decks. Sometimes we find that on older homes, new vented soffit is placed right over old plywood, we do not do this. In these cases, we will remove the old plywood first to allow for proper ventilation and then install new soffit. Fascia protects the wood that your eavestrough is attached to, keeping it from rotting and providing a clean, finished look.
